VeruTEK introduces green remediation products

VeruTEK Technologies of Glastonbury, Connecticut (OTC: VTKT [1]) today announced a new line of designer surfactants derived from green chemistry for environmental remediation.

The company's VeruSOL® family safely removes contaminants from soils including carcinogens and endocrine disruptors that are a ubiquitous global public health problem, it said.

VeruSOL combines biodegradable food-grade surface active agents from coconut oil, castor oil and citrus extracts to turn contaminants in soil and groundwater into soluble compounds.

Contaminants are dissolved and, in conjunction with oxidants, are simultaneously oxidized in-place, eliminating the need for excavation and minimizing the impact to the environment and surrounding community, VeruTEK claims.

“Excavation and landfilling merely transfers the problem to another location, it is not a solution and certainly not a sustainable practice,” said John Collins, CEO of VeruTEK Technologies.

Currently, VeruTEK offers different VeruSOL blends for cleaning MGP and heavy diesel contamination, lighter organics like NAPLs and gasoline, chlorinated DNAPLs, clean soil and groundwater PCBs, clay matrices, and a blend designed specifically for landfills.

Its new products are now available.
