ZAP appoints distributor in Puerto Rico

January 19, 2007

Rising gas prices on Puerto Rico have prompted a local distributor to enter into an agreement with electric vehicle maker ZAP (OTCBB: ZAAP) to market its electric cars, scooters, seascooters, bicycles, personal transporters and other alternative fueled vehicles.

ZAP says hundreds of its vehicles have already been shipped to AJ Imports in Bayamon, a beach community where the company sells and rents vehicles serving primarily the tourism industry.

The company says oil prices are having a significant affect on many smaller countries around the world, including islands, which rely almost exclusively on imported oil.

Since 1994, ZAP has distributed more than 90 thousand electric vehicles like the ZAPPY3 PRO personal transporter
to more than 75 countries worldwide.

On behalf of ZAP, AJ Imports will serve as the exclusive distributor to the island of Puerto Rico and the smaller surrounding islands. The company has already started marketing ZAP's ZAPPY3 electric personal transporters, XEBRA Truck, ZAP Seascooters, BUZZZ electric ATVs and more.

ZAP has been in advanced transportation technologies since 1994, delivering over 90,000 vehicles to consumers in more than 75 countries. ZAP is shipping or investigating vehicles based on new technologies including energy-efficient gas systems, hydrogen, electric, fuel cell, alcohol, hybrid and other innovative power systems.
