Burn it all.

An excellent article with the wrong conclusion. One that suits the oil companies.

The biomass can be burned, or co-burned with coal. Co-burning improves emissions. The heat is turned into electricity, just as in a coal burning plant. The coal is useful to dry out the biomass. Water can be removed as steam. Burning produces ash which can be blended with used on crops. The electricity is simply fed to the grid. The power plant can be located near farms and electrical lines. The biomass is renewable annually.

The advantages are energy independence, jobs, and a cleaner environment.
