It needs to be pointed out that it's not necessary to even come close to supplying all our power from renewable
sources. Thirty percent of our power right now comes from carbon-free nuclear and hydroelectric. Nor can a 16 hour day make solar power available at all times - there are more than a few days when the desert sun doesn't shine (about 35 days a year) and that means no power, regardless of how long it can be stored. That's almost one day a week. Wind certainly has NO ability whatsoever
to meet demand on command, nor does photovoltaic, nor most wave power, all three of these totally obsolescent in my opinion. They are kept alive only by life support govt welfare subsidies. It's high time to quit bilking the taxpayer in order to fund these useless and exorbitantly expensive technologies. Solar thermal and geothermal stand out as the only feasible and practical
alternative energy technologies.
"Thanks for the nice piece on AEP in today's publication. You explained it correctly... really got it right. In my experience, that's all too rare among even the most professional of journalists!"
