Argonne National Laboratory finds fault with Science papers

Scientists at Argonne National Labs in the U.S. today published a letter responding to the two critical studies cited above.

They maintain some of the models used by the scientists were flawed, concluding that "while scientific assessment of land use change issues is urgently needed in order to design policies that prevent unintended consequences from biofuel production, conclusions regarding the GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions effects of biofuels based on speculative, limited land use change modeling may misguide biofuel policy development."
