here's one who did exactly that. after my first child was born 27 years ago, I had a vasectomy. my 3 other children are adopted. I'm also using 100% biodiesel in my car. it's made from *used* oil, currently from a potato chip factory.

across the bay, in s.f. there's a program being developed to collect *used* oil from restaurants, convert it to biodiesel, and use it in diesel-powered city vehicles. note that this oil is often otherwise problematic, e.g. it fouls storm drains when dumped.

it ain't a silver bullet, but it's not clearing forests to grow corn (or soybeans) and it allows me to do something TODAY.

action, even small action, as opposed to talk (which is also important) is extremely liberating.
