Today, thin film solar developer BioSolar (OTC: BSRC) became a public company, albeit only on the OTC.
BioSolar says it is developing a way to produce thin film, flexible solar cells on low cost bio-based plastic substrates. It claims it will offer high efficiencies of over 15%, and be based on a durable, heat resistant material.
Today, its SB-2 registration statement was declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). And indeed, as of today, it is now trading as BSRC.
"We can now turn our energies and focus to developing our solar cells produced on bio-based substrates. We look forward to building a successful company for our shareholders," said CEO David Lee.
BioSolar suggests its forthcoming cells will be applicable to building materials, outdoor power, emergency power, mobile computer and communications and other sectors.
The company identifies fellow thin film solar company XsunX as a partner, as well as corn-to-plastic company Cereplast.
