Many of the cleantech industry’s success stories are the result of long-term collaborations forged to conduct research for a promising idea, improve on a technology or product, or expand into new markets.

In a webinar on Tuesday, September 30th at 10 a.m. Pacific, we explored the elements of successful partnerships and answered questions such as:

  • What are some of the most compelling reasons to look for a partner?
  • What are some “best practice” methods for ensuring that you select the right partner?
  • What are some of the advantages and challenges of industry partnerships?
  • How can you become the partner that everybody wants?

This webinar will offer valuable advice from a diverse group of speakers, representing entrepreneurial companies, large energy OEMs, utilities and university research centers, including:

  • Sunovia Energy Technologies: Sunovia is developing an advanced and cost-effective cadmium telluride (CdTe) solar cell technology. Sunovia is working with NASA, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force, state governments and municipalities to solve their renewable energy and energy conservation needs.
  • Siemens Power Generation: For over 10 years, Siemens Power Generation has partnered with the University of Central Florida, for research ranging from aerodynamics and materials to sensors and thermodynamics. Now, the Siemens Center for Advanced Turbines and Energy Systems Research at UCF, which will focus on clean energy systems (among others), is the latest example of this successful collaboration.
  • FPL: Florida Power & Light Company is the largest investor-owned electric utility in Florida and a subsidiary of FPL Group, the No. 1 electric utility company nationwide in energy–efficiency programs. FPL has partnered with numerous small and large suppliers to develop its industry-leading initiatives in solar and wind power generation.

Speakers:

Vinod Philip, Siemens Power Generation

Cindy Tindell, Sr. Director, Project Development, FPL

Carl Smith, CEO, Sunovia Energy Technologies
