'Climate realists' don't see global warming crisis

A group calling itself the International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC) chose today, Earth Day, to rain on the climate change parade.

The ICSC cannily chose the day to release the names of 500 “climate realists” who endorsed its Manhattan Declaration on Climate Change, which calls on world leaders to “reject the views expressed by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)” and Al Gore’s popular movie, An Inconvenient Truth.”

Read the names of the 500 here. Anyone you recognize?

According to the endorsers, apparently it’s okay for the planet to get a bit warmer because “warmer weather is generally less harmful to life on Earth than colder [weather].”

They also feel that there is “no convincing evidence” that CO2 emissions have, are, or will cause catastrophic climate change and that the current legislation and incentives that encourage CO2 reduction will actually “slow development” and “markedly diminish future prosperity.”

The ICSC did note that it believed protecting the natural world was “crucially important,” and that it wanted to promote a better understanding of climate change and was open to discussion about climate-related issues.
